On the 5th of September 2009, 32 ECY teachers of BINUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Serpong attended the “What is an Effective ECY Classroom?”, on the 2nd Floor, Admission Hall, BINUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Serpong.
This workshop was organized by the Widia Center of Excellence for Teaching and Learning (WiTeL) with Elsie Bait, Vice Principal (Student Development) of BINUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Simprug as the workshop facilitator.
In this workshop, participants identified the make-up of an effective ECY classroom from the physical environment to the development of teaching strategies that are age-appropriate, and that encourage learning through cooperative learning and play. Moreover, the teachers were encouraged to gain new and build on their existing skills in identifying different student needs and abilities, and develop strategies to address them.
