“A man's errors are his portals of discovery.”~ James Joyce
Following on from the ECY program, teachers continue to facilitate the students to build a class community that celebrates the strengths and differences of each individual by affirming each child and encouraging the practice of Six Pillars of good character.
Our unique blend of curricula that synthesizes the National Curriculum with International Standards and Best Practices, borrowing more heavily from the Singapore Curriculum, is designed purposely to cater to students in Indonesia who value a solid root in National Curriculum yet want to take advantage of the best and latest learning innovations from around the world. The elementary years is the foundation period for children to gain the thinking, social, physical, creative, problem-solving skills to prepare for more versatile training in the middle school and high school years.
Teachers, local and expatriate, are all highly trained to deliver a rigorous learning programme, equipping students with internationally expected and accepted concepts, skills and knowledge. This is done with care and much positive encouragement, always skillfully empowering students to discover and define their own learning so to take more ownership, generating confidence, self-esteem and greater interest. Thus the birth of a virtuous learning cycle! Care is given to foster teamwork and relationship-building so to cultivate the emotional intelligence of each student.
Innovative spirit is an important aspect of our school culture. To develop our future forward thinkers, we encourage every teacher, staff and student to come up with innovations that better our daily lives in big or small ways. Regularly, these innovative efforts will be highlighted to affirm all endeavors in this direction and to spur further creativity. Failure will not be frowned upon; after all, Thomas Edison failed a 1000 times before he invented the light bulb!
